I like the analogy of the luxury brands. I guess another way of putting it is that it is obvious that we are in the very first innings of the foundational model market. The current business models are immature and fairly basic. We should expect to see 1) more sophistication and 2) large divergence in the business models and branding, as the market matures a bit. Similarly with what happens with handbags, where you have the cheap copycats, the basic ones, the premium ones (more expensive because of functionality), the luxury ones (high price for exclusivity), etc.
